We’re looking for a SVP, Media who’ll lead the team in bringing transformation to life through increased paid media growth opportunities for the agency. You’ll be responsible for overseeing a team across media strategy, planning, tactical execution and performance analysis. You’ve built-up a strong background in media and have a proven track record when winning new business. You have the ability to educate internal teams and clients on omnichannel media best practices and know how to plan and execute flawless campaigns that drive business impact. You enjoy leading a team and working across multiple clients. You maintain strong client relationships, proactively exploring new ways to grow the relationship. You ensure that advertising efforts push the boundaries of innovation and creativity, while always delivering on client’s core business needs. You are someone with an entrepreneurial spirit with a proven track record of building thriving media teams.Responsibilities
- Media department head, responsible for strategic initiatives that drive the department and agency forward. Includes partnering with Account and Creative leads at the agency to identify potential areas for organic media growth, delivering an action plan to garner additional revenue.
- Coach and lead the media team ensuring strong day-to-day process and serving as a mentor/resource for the team.
- Ability to train, motivate, grow, and evaluate team members, fostering a strong cohesive working environment.
- Encourage an agency culture that’s based on teamwork, collaboration and support.
- Develop and foster productive, mutually beneficial client relationships and ensuring strong top-to-top client relationships.
- Ensure that the team delivers high-quality omnichannel media plans, serving up a smart, thoughtful understanding of how online and offline channels can achieve (and exceed) objectives and goals.
- Ensures that there is a strong reporting/analytics structure in place to measure KPIs throughout the campaign duration, including taking advantage of analytics opportunities such as omnichannel attribution reporting, brand lift/sentiment/equity analysis, foot traffic
- Attends and presents at conferences to help advance disciplinary knowledge, stay on top of new approaches and technology, and amplify the Two by Four brand from a media/analytics perspective.
- Responsible for management and development of Media Associates, Senior Associates, Supervisors and Directors.
- Directly responsible for the P&L of the Media Department and accountable to the President.
- Acts as an escalation point for complex negotiations, optimizing client deal structures.
- Promotes a positive, diverse, and inclusive corporate culture aligned with company values.
- Is a member of the agency’s Executive Management Team.
Qualifications
- 15+ years media planning and buying experience.
- 7+ years of staff management and team leadership.
- Experience developing media capabilities and media teams from the ground up.
- Experience building/structuring best-in-class media teams that are digital-first and performance driven.
- Strong understanding of media financials and optimal pricing models (deliverables-based, commission, etc.).
- Strong understanding of the media platform/tool landscape (MMM/planning tools, DSPs, dashboard solutions, DCO platforms, etc.) and cost/benefit analysis for each.
- Previous experience in media new business pitches and proven track record of converting new business prospects.
- Track record of upholding and nurturing client relationships.
- Strong coaching and mentorship skills—dependable, respectful and communicative.
- Advanced analytics and presentation skills.
- Experience with negotiating diverse customer accounts, from SMB to enterprise.
- Proven understanding of client financial processes and a passion for both client and agency revenue growth.
- Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Entrepreneurial, scrappy, accountable, high bar for excellence, problem solver, player/coach mentality, passionate about media.

- THIS IS A PREDOMINATELY A “WORK FROM THE OFFICE” JOB. While we currently offer “Work from Home Wednesdays”, this job requires that you work in our Chicago office Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
