CHICAGO – July 16, 2015 – Today Two by Four welcomed England native Matt Scholes as Senior Vice President, Director of Strategy and Media. Matt joins Two by Four with over two decades of experience in brand-building and integrated communications for such iconic international brands like Kelloggs, Unilever, Nestle, Diageo, Mars and P&G.
Matt will serve on the agency executive management team and head strategic development and media for both our Chicago and Chattanooga offices, reporting directly to David Stevenson, Two by Four President and Executive Creative Director.
In previous roles Matt has served as Executive Vice President for Leo Burnett in Chicago, where he led that agency’s relationship with Kellogg globally, a role he also held for several years at JWT. While at Burnett, he won many CRM, digital, and new advertising assignments for the network. Earlier in his career, he led McCann WorldGroup’s global relationship with Nestle.
Over the years Matt has been directly involved in some highly creative and effective work; winning two Cannes Lions, several Clios and Campaign awards. He has also won several effectiveness awards including a Global Effie for the Special K Two-Week Challenge.
“We are thrilled to welcome Matt to the team and we can’t wait to feel his impact on our client’s businesses," said David Stevenson, Two by Four President and Executive Creative Director. “His strategic leadership and determination will help us produce magnetic ideas and focused, quality work."
A Brit and a graduate of the University of London, Matt spent most of his early career in the UK, though he also enjoyed a successful four years in JWT Toronto where he helped lead that agency to new creative and business heights. “While much has changed in our business it’s important not to forget the things which have stayed the same—the need for genuine insights into people and their behavior, for creativity and ideas which make consumers glad they spent time with our brands, and for brands with clear convictions about what they are and to whom they should appeal.” He adds “I was really impressed by the spirit, talent and ambition which exists at Two by Four to serve it’s impressive client list, many of which have been with the agency for some time, which is saying something these days. It feels like an agency poised to do something great and I can’t wait to find out how far we can go together.”
“There’s no doubt in my mind Matt will be an essential asset to our clients and our team. His positive energy, inspiring ideas, and ambition to create distinguished brands will drive results for our clients. And the accent certainly doesn’t hurt either," said Stevenson.
